In our continual search for the very best genetics we can find we decided to return to Canada and attend Agribition and visit Lewis Farms, McMillen Ranch, Ashworth farms, Bouchard Livestock and M&R Simmentals. We saw many great cattle throughout our visit and it was exciting to see many of the sale cattle that will feature in the up and coming sales this year and into next years bull sales.
One of the main reasons for our trip was to attended the Lewis Farms Leading Ladies female sale and tour their extensive Simmental operation. The sale was a huge success and an incredible line of black, red and traditional Simmentals were sold. While at Lewis farms we viewed the bulls for their sale in February and they were quite outstanding, there was tremendous depth in both there red and black Simmental bulls and the consistency of the bulls was a feature of the draft and a great example of a leading seedstock operation. While at Lewis Farms we were also able to view Gibby's Real Deal, the homozygous polled bull that we bought the rights in 3 years ago. Real Deal is an tremendously long bull, with strong carcase characteristics and a wonderful set of feet and legs, we look forward to selling his 2nd group of bulls in our 2012 sale. We also saw a tremendous up and coming black sire 3D BLK Full Throttle, he sold for $64,000 earlier in the year and was purchased by Lewis Farms and Bouchard Livestock, a true stud sire with awesome length, depth and carcase with softness and style.
