One of the most important parts of the show is the led steer competition. This enables us to determine what our genetics are doing from a commercial point of veiw and the resuts this year were outstanding. Woonallee Wildcard was awarded Reserve champion heavy weight steer in one of the strongest line up of steers for many years. Wildcard won his class just beating Woonallee Warrior who came second to him in the heavy export breeder steer class. The simmentals came 3rd in the O'connor trophy award for the team of 3 steers, 2 of these steers were bred by Woonallee and the 3rd was owned by Regan and Karen Burrows, Yerwal Estate and was sired by Woonallee Bold. All of these steers placed in there on hoof classes and all scored over 80 points on the Hook. Other notable results were a steer exhibited by Shirley Barker, Bokara Simmentals, the steer was awarded Reserve champion heavy domestic steer and was sired by Woonallee Clockwork. In all Woonallee had 5 steers exhibited for the following results;
